For much of my life, I have known who I was in relation to someone else. A wife. A mother. Someone who loved deeply and kept trying, even when things hurt.
After years of marriage, betrayal, and painful words, I found myself asking questions I never wanted to ask. Was I still beautiful? Was I desirable? Was I enough?
I have loved people who have hurt me. Caring about them has not made the hurt disappear. And the thought of starting over has frightened me—not just emotionally, but financially. When so much of your life has been built around a relationship, imagining something different can feel overwhelming.
I wish I could tell this story from the other side, with every answer neatly in place. I can't. I'm still trying to find my place and remember who I am. I know there is a strong woman inside me, even on the days when I feel broken.
That is why I wanted to create She Was Enough. A place where we can admit that we are struggling without being judged. Where loving someone doesn't mean we have to pretend their behavior doesn't hurt. Where nobody has to make a life-changing decision just to be welcomed.
I want to stop measuring my beauty and my worth through someone else's eyes. I want to find the parts of myself I thought I had lost. And I want other women walking through this to know they don't have to carry it alone.
I don't have everything figured out.
But I was enough. And so were you.
She Was Enough
